This kit has been designed for simplicity and ease of putting together.
If you want to control the pressure retained in a pressure vessel that is releasing pressure then the BlowTie Diaphram Spunding Valve is the tool for the job.
The adjustment knob on the top of the unit makes it easy to increase and decrease the set pressure.
This BlowTie unit can be easily dissassembled for cleaning using a phillips head screw driver.
Designed to suit 8mm (5/16") Evabarrier Tubing. It's compatible with both the 4mm ID Tubing here or 5mm ID here.
Specifications:
1. Suits pressures 0-15psi (but with different guages the unit can go above 100psi)
2. Made from food grade acetal
3. Stainless screws
4. 8mm (5/16") push on both sides
Previously the Blowtie has been one of the most popular and reliable spunding valves in the market. Many customers used this spunding valve in combination with the FermZilla pressure rated fermenters or KegMenters.
Due to the popularity of the Blowtie we decided to make a new "Blowtie 2" and this new upgarded model has integrated pressure gauge.
This awesome compact solution for adjusting residual pressure in your fermenter makes pressure control easier than it's ever been. This can be used for compressed air, CO2, nitrogen, mains water supply and many other things but it's primary use is to control the residual pressure inside fermenters.
The unit is made from food grade engineering plastic, stainless steel and quality made EPDM seals.
The design utilizes the reliability of the KegLand patented duotight o-ring system to make sure you can fit hoses to this unit quickly and with leak free connections.
Pressure Fermentations
With pressurised fermentation becoming ever more popular it has become increasingly important to have a method of regulating and controlling this residual pressure from the fermentation process. The BlowTie has been designed specifically for this reason.
Pressure Transfers
When transferring from keg to keg, keg to bottle, or fermenter to keg it's often a good idea to have head pressure in the keg you are filling into especially if you are transferring a beverage that is carbonated. For this reason the BlowTie can consistenly control this head pressure giving you more consistent results and without losing carbonation in the process.
Traditional spunding valves that use a simple spring against a seal are flawed right from the beginning as the physical aspects of the design dictate that you will have a significant difference between the opening pressure and closing pressure during opperation. Brewers have tolerated this imperfection for long enough and now you can control these pressures far more accurately.
The BlowTie has been made completely differently taking advantage of a diaphragm to actuate the sealing mechanism that will release pressure from the pressure vessel with much more accurate control pressure.
Instructions:
Use the yellow adjustment knob to control the pressure coming out of the pressure vessel. Clockwise is higher pressure and anticlockwise is lower pressure.
We would recommend gassing a keg to a known pressure e.g. 15psi then attach your Blow Tie Kit to the keg and adjust to 10psi.
IMPORTANT WARNING: Do not exceed gauge pressure. If you set a gauge pressure higher than the graduations on the gauge you can damage the gauge. (ie if you are using the 0-60psi gauge. Do not set pressure above 60psi or damage to the gauge may occur.

These ball lock posts include a 1/4 inch BSP thread so you can attach it to a wide range of other fittings. The posts include a 20mm long thread, an o-ring, poppet, locking nut and short dip tube.
Longer dip tubes can be purchase separately. This would enable you to make a keg out of any pressure vessel if you wanted to. The assembly can also be fitted to our MKIII and MKIV regulators, gas manifolds, Bottle Filler Beer Guns (very useful) and various other items.
We would highly recommend attaching one of these to your regulators if you use the CO2 Cylinder bracket. It makes it much easier to detach your CO2 bottle without having to pull the Kegerator out.
$14.90 AUD
A gas free ball lock line cleaning kit with a hand pump, so you can flush your beer lines without wasting CO2. It pushes cleaner through the lines and disconnects with ease, keeping your draught tasting fresh. Regular line cleaning is the secret to great beer at home, and this makes it painless.
$7.90 AUD
A replacement seal kit for the FC flow control ball lock disconnect, sold each. Fresh seals stop the weeps and keep your flow control pouring smoothly. A small, sensible spare to keep your best disconnect in top form.
The 0.5 stone is used to force carbonate beverages like beer, champagne or sparking meads with carbon dioxide. The 2.0 stone can be used to oxygenate wort using an oxygen regulator. The holes in the 0.5 stone are too fine to use it to aerate the wort with an aeration pump. However, compared with the 2.0 micron stone, the 0.5 micron stone will carbonate beer quicker and with a longer lasting head because the bubbles that it creates are smaller. The stones are 1" long and .5" in diameter.
Force carbonating beverages.
You will need a homebrew kegging outfit with CO2 tank, regulator, lines, and a keg. Simply attach a 24" length of ¼” ID tubing to the gas side dip tube of your keg with a worm clamp. On the other end of the tubing, attach the diffusion stone using another clamp. There are charts available online and in books for exact levels of temperature and CO2 pressure to achieve desired carbonation levels. Following is an example for average carbonation in beer: Chill the beer to 40 F. Adjust the regulator to 2 PSI and attach the gas disconnect. Every 3 minutes increase the pressure 2 PSI until 12 PSI is reached. At this point the beer will be carbonated, but it won’t hurt to leave it alone in the refrigerator for a few days under pressure.
If using pure oxygen to oxygenate the wort, Note: High gravity beers may require more time because oxygen does not dissolve as easily in liquids with a high specific gravity.
Never touch the sintered part of the diffusion stone with your hands. Use sanitized gloves. Oils from your fingers will clog the holes.
CLEANING: Sanitise stone in boiling water or clean in a non-rinse sanitiser whilst running CO2 or air through the stone.
