The lid is the part that fails. Jars and bottles last decades, but a cap that has been boiled a few too many times stops sealing, and you find out in August when a year of passata has gone off.
These are replacement metal jar lids and bottle caps sized to the Italian jars we sell. White, black, gold and red with a gold ring, the white cap with the tomato logo that everyone recognises, the fruit design lids, and the gold Casalinghe print with a full thread. The Bormioli Rocco metal lid for Quattro Stagioni jars is here too, which is the one most people come in looking for.
Plastic retaining discs are the piece people forget. They sit under the lid and hold the fruit or vegetables below the liquid line, which is what actually stops spoilage. We stock them in a standard size and in 58 to 61.5mm to suit a 70mm outside diameter jar.
If you are not sure of your size, bring a jar in. Measuring a thread from memory almost never works, and we would rather sell you the right cap than the wrong one twice.
