Reusing bottles is the cheapest thing a home winemaker or brewer can do, and it only works if the inside of the bottle is properly clean. A brush, a rinser and somewhere to drain is the whole system, and it pays for itself inside a season.
Match the brush to the vessel. The Ferrari Bottle Brush Nylon and the 40cm Hard Nylon Bristle brush handle standard wine and beer bottles. Demijohns need reach and a bend, which is what the Ferrari Demijohn Brush with curve and handle gives you, and there is a hard bristle brush for small demijohns too. If you are doing volume, the Ferrari water pressure operated bottle washer with a stainless bristle does the scrubbing for you straight off the tap, while the Economical Spring Loaded Bottle Steriliser and the Grifo Pappa Model Rinser push sanitiser up into the bottle. Then it has to drain upside down, so look at the Grifo Enolandia Easy Bottle Drainer for smaller runs, the Bottle Drainer 18 with tray by Ferrari, or a Grifo Bottle Tree Rack in 48 or 81 bottle sizes when you are bottling a whole batch at once.
Rinse bottles the day you empty them, before the residue dries. Ten seconds under the tap then saves a long soak and a lot of scrubbing later.
