A spring loaded foot valve for a bottle filler. The valve stays shut until the wand touches the bottom of the bottle, then opens and fills from below, which keeps splashing and oxygen pickup down. Spring loaded, so it closes the moment you lift out.
Check it against the filler wand you are using, or bring the wand into Laverton North or Epping and we will match it.

A handcrafted Italian copper alembic, bundled with glass bottles, cork stoppers and a test cylinder. It is a beautiful piece, made from food-safe copper with a hand-hammered finish.
What’s in the kit
- Italian Alembic Copper Boiler, 23 L, with detachable thermometer, alcoholmeter, serpentine cooling tank and condenser unit with copper coil
- 20 x 500 ml Euro gin bottles
- Black flat top port cork stoppers, 100 pack
- Hydrometer test cylinder, 270 ml
Good to know
The alembic is sold as a bar display ornament for a restaurant, bar or pub feature. As it holds more than 5 L, if you intend to use it for essential oil or spirit distillation you may need to explore your state laws and apply for a regional producer licence first.
The gear we’d put together for anyone making their first red. Everything here is something we sell on its own and use ourselves, bundled so you’re not standing in the aisle wondering what you’ve forgotten.
A 20 L batch fills around 24 to 26 standard 750 ml bottles once the wine is racked off its sediment. That’s enough to learn the process without committing a whole garage to it.
Not included
- Grapes or juice
- Wine bottles. See our wine bottles.
- A bucket or vat, if you’re crushing whole grapes
How it works
- Clean and sanitise the demijohn, airlock and syphon with a metabisulphite solution.
- Fill and pitch. Add your juice or crushed grapes, plus nutrient and yeast following the directions on each pack. Take a hydrometer reading before fermentation starts.
- Ferment with the airlock fitted. Keep the demijohn somewhere with a steady temperature.
- Check it’s finished. When the hydrometer reading stops changing over a few days, fermentation is done.
- Rack the wine off the sediment with the syphon, and let it clear. Don’t rush this. Wine bottled too early tastes thin.
- Bottle and cork. Fill your bottles, drive the corks home with the hand corker, and give it time.

Algor stainless steel wine tanks are ideal for the storage and fermentation of your favorite beverage. All of our equipment is made of the finest metals for home and industrial use, 316L stainless steel.
316 Stainless Steel tanks are suitable for high acidity beverages (low PH) and salty products you will require a more anti-corrosive material.
Each tank includes the lid kit which allows sealing the tank reducing the contact with air for the liquids inside. If you dealing with different quantities of wine the inflatable floating lid provides a great solution by allowing you to fix the lid at any level.
Stands and extra fitting are available to be purchased separately.
Wine isn’t just a beverage. It’s an experience. For many, that experience begins the moment the bottle is corked. For you, the journey starts long before that. Without the right wine tanks, your journey will be filled with obstacles. Stainless steel wine tanks enable you to do that.
The taste, scent, and other wine factors depend on how you ferment the wine. That means that everything that touches your wine has the opportunity to drastically change the quality of the beverage. In order for your wine to truly stand out, it should be fermented and stored in tanks that won’t affect the wine.
If you are looking for an Italian made stainless tank which not only is a solution to manage diverse quantities of wine but also made your job easier then look no further.
- Variable capacity lids (also known as a Floating Lid) allow for variable size batches of wine.
- Lid Kit includes Lid, Airlock, Hand pump, Inflatable seal, Rop, Hose, clamp.
- AISI 304 stainless steel construction
- One stainless steel female pipe thread (FPT) collar for attaching the included chrome spigot
- Stands are available for tanks, sold separately
- The wide-open design facilitated the clean process
Keep in mind extra products that you can purchase separately to improve your production process:
- Pedestal Stand: Allows the tank to be elevated off the ground to assist cleaning around the area and greater protection of the vessel and valve.
- Airlock extension: provides a more solid connection between the lid and airlock preventing the risk of oxidation as aged airlock has been known to break
- Floating lid oil system for wine: Dispensing your finish wine out of the tank can be possible with an oil lid. Only use paraffin oil.
- Dust lid: Prevent dust and bacteria developing on the inflatable seal with could contaminate off flavours in your wine.
- Extra inflatable seal: Always is handy to have a spare inflatable seal for your tank. The seal can break at any time.
- Upgrade your tank material to S/S 316: For high acidity beverages (low PH) and salty products you will require a more anti-corrosive material than S/S 304
Find in the table below a guide for the measurements for these tanks:
*** Noted that these measurements might vary from the factory without notice ***
Keep in mind that in most cases the outside diameter of the tanks is 3 to 5 cm bigger than the internal diameter. And the size of the lid is 2 to 3 cm smaller than the internal diameter.
For multiple tanks and different sizes purchasing, we might be able to neast the tanks to reduce shipping costs.
