Kegs With Ball Lock - Cornelius
Ball lock kegs, the Cornelius type, are the reason home kegging took off. They seal properly, they stack, and every part on them can be replaced, which is why a keg bought second hand is usually just a keg that needs new O rings.
Start with the vessel. The 20 L beer keg with a plastic shell and ball lock is the everyday size, the 2 L ball lock keg suits a taster batch, and the Mangrove Jacks mini beer keg comes with its own tapping head. After that it is all serviceable parts. The ten piece O ring set to suit Cornelius type ball lock posts is the first thing to buy, because posts and lids leak long before anything else does. Stainless liquid and gas posts are sold separately, including a gas post with the F19/32 thread and a liquid ball post for Mytton Rod and Rheem kegs with no groove. Poppets and springs, T bar keg opening tools, a grey 100 psi pressure relief valve, plastic and MFL disconnects, a yellow multi liquid carbonation cap and a keg to keg daisy chain disconnect fill in the rest.
Before you chase a leak around with soapy water, just replace the lid seal. It is the cheapest part on the keg and it is the culprit most of the time.
We keep kegs and spares at Laverton North and Epping. See also keg accessories, taps and faucets and CO2 tanks and regulators.

These 58L stainless steel vessels are designed in the same manner as a commercial beer keg, but with a large 10cm (4inch) tri-clover opening at the top that allows you to easily get inside the keg to clean it. This new 58L size is ideal for doing 50L batches with a little extra head space inside the Kegmenter.
This Kegmenter comes with an airlock and a flat plate, but it can also be used under pressure if desired. If you intend to use this under pressure, we recommend purchasing the lid with ball lock posts and a pressure relief valve.
The Kegmenter can hold 2.5bar, allowing you to carbonate and ferment in the same vessel. You can either carbonate naturally using our adjustable pressure relief valve (spunding valve) or force carbonate if you are using a CO2 gas cylinder.
Being able to hold pressure also allows you to push the beer directly from the fermenter through a filter or even dispense directly from the fermenter to a draught beer tap if desired.
The chimes on the Kegmenters have been specifically designed to be taller than standard chimes in order to provide clearance over the stainless posts on the Ball Lock Post Lid. This implies that the Kegmenters can be stacked. Because of the interlocking stacking chimes, the kegs can be safely stacked up to four high.
The Kegmenter can also be used in conjunction with the 2" to 4" tri-clover concentric reducer.
This means you can reduce the 4inch opening down to 2 inch opening so you can attach one of our Alcoengine Reflux or Alcoengine Pot still to the top.

A stainless steel ball lock liquid disconnect with flow control and an MFL thread. The flow control lets you throttle the pour back right at the disconnect, which is the easiest way to tame a foamy line without re-plumbing the whole setup.
Ball lock, so it suits ball lock posts. Confirm your keg posts and your line thread before ordering and we'll check it with you.
This post is compatible with all the standard cornelius type kegs.
To remove or fit this post you will need a 17mm socket set (or 11/16inch) or you can use a ring spanner. We don't recommend the use of a shifter as it can round off the corners of the hex and damage the post.
Please note that this is just the post. You will need to purchase the poppet and spring separately.
This new handy ball lock post fits both gas and liquid ball lock disconnects. This can be really handy for daisy chaining beer kegs together and for many other reasons.
Also handy if you want to be able to push gas down your dip tube to make your kegs carbonate faster. It is also poignant to disclose that due to dimensional differences between gas and liquid posts, this item will not form as snug a fit as a dedicated post for that disconnect. We do not recommend this to be used as a dedicated gas post.
A complete o-ring seal kit for Cornelius ball lock kegs, covering the lid, posts, dip tubes and poppets in one go. When a keg starts weeping gas or will not hold pressure, a full reseal is the quickest fix. Keep one on hand and your kegs will always be ready to pour.
