Still Spirits Air Still 240V/320W

An air-cooled pot still that allows you to distill small batches of flavourful spirits with up to 60% ABV. Ideal for beginners.

The Air Still is compact and easy to use wherever and whenever you want. It fits nicely on your kitchen countertop and stores easily in cabinetry or pantries. The Air Still is equipped with an efficient, built-in fan that blows air over the coils to cool and condense the vapour into liquid. No separate water source is required during distillation. Also suitable for distilled water and hydrosols.

A botanical basket, purchased separately, can be used for crafting gin or other botanical spirits.

Air Still Fermentation Kit

The Air Still Fermentation Kit contains the base ingredients required to make an 8 L wash for distilling a neutral spirit with the Still Spirits Air Still or Air Still Pro - just add sugar and water.

Mixing Instructions:

Make sure the tap is securely fitted to the Air Still Fermenter. Clean and sanitise your fermenter thoroughly. We recommend always using a new carbon cartridge for each fermentation, this is situated in the lid of your Air Still Fermenter and helps remove any fermentation odours.
Add 7.5 L (2.0 US Gal) of water to your fermenter at 30°C (86°F).
Add 2.4 kg (5.3 lb) dextrose to the water and stir until dissolved.
Add Turbo Yeast and Nutrient sachets.
Gently massage the Turbo Carbon sachet and then add to the mix. Stir well.
Sit the fermenter at room temperature - approx. 18-24°C (64-75°F) for 7 days or until wash has stopped bubbling.
To confirm fermentation is complete test the wash with a hydrometer. The wash has completed fermentation when the Specific Gravity (SG) reading is at or below 990 and has been stable for 2 consecutive days.
Now clear your wash. First, stir vigorously to remove all gases. Once degassed, add Turbo Clear Part A. Stir well then stand for 1 hour.
Add Turbo Clear Part B whilst stirring. Stop stirring as soon as all of Part B has been added. You must stir very gently, otherwise you will disrupt the clearing process. Stand for 24 hours then carefully remove clear wash for distilling.
You will end up with approximately 8 L (2.1 US Gal) of purified wash ready for distilling.

100g of Copper Saddles.
Copper is required as a catalyst to remove sulphur odours during distillation. These are essential for high alcohol washes, typically over 16% ABV.
To wash your saddles: Remove them (both ceramic and copper, but keep them separate for ease of reassembly) from the column and soak them in vinegar. Once finished give them a thorough rinse 3 or 4 times before putting them back in the condenser.
You only have to rinse your column and saddles every 5-10 distillations.

The Stainless Steel PolyPhoenix Distillation Parrot can be height adjusted using the wire stand, or mounted directly to your PolyPhoenix Distillation set up via the 1.5" Tri-Clover input port.
If you are mounting this directly to your PolyPhoenix still, we would encourage using some support brackets to counteract weight distribution for stability.

A distillers parrot is a piece of kit that allows you to take alcohol gravity measurements using an Alcometer continuously throughout your pot or reflux run. It should be placed inline of your distillation outlet so that the drops of distillate fall directly into the tallest collection cone.

This Parrot Kit comes with:
1 x Quick Swivel Connector 1/2' x Stainless Steel End Cap (18mm)
1 x Small Alcometer Spring Protector (Not sold as a spare part!)
2 x M6 x 14mm Wing Nut and Bolts

When used at maximum height with two wing nuts installed it is 460mm High to the TC Port.
You can also install a 1/2" BSP Ball valve on the bottom port of the parrot to dump and retake a measurement of the current distillate exiting your still.

This product is ultimately designed to be used with a:
