Wine Corks, Capsules & Stoppers

The closure is the last decision of the vintage and the one that decides how the wine ages. Eighty four lines here covering corks, capsules, stoppers and the corkers that drive them home.

Natural cork is still the traditional choice and we stock Ref 1 natural corks for wine bottles, Diam technical corks where you want consistency bottle to bottle, and agglomerated corks for wine you will drink young. Twin Top and purple synthetic corks are the practical middle ground, and Neutro at 23.5 x 44mm is the workhorse size.

Taper corks are a different job. They go into demijohns, flagons and jars, and we carry them in natural and composite from 20mm through to 42mm, plus mixed assorted packs if you are matching an odd bottle.

Capsules finish the bottle. Heat shrink PVC in gold satin, matt and satin black, burgundy with a gold stripe and clear, in 30 x 60mm, 31 x 55mm and 35 x 65mm, in packs of 25 and 100. A hair dryer will shrink them; you do not need special equipment.

For driving corks, the Ferrari pedestal corkers come in standard 750ml, magnum, MAXI, MINI and ECO. A pedestal compresses the cork evenly and does not tire your hands out at bottle forty.
