Capping and Corkers

A capper is the last machine in the chain and the one that decides whether the batch keeps. Sixty four cappers, corkers and closures here, from a hand held two lever up to a professional bench unit.

For beer, a bench capper is worth it the moment you are doing more than a carton. The Grifo Super with a heavy chrome base takes a 26 or 29mm crown bell, the OMAC Napoli 2 and the Grifo bench capper with a rotary arm handle 26mm all day, and the two lever Eterna from OMAC is the compact option. Hand held two lever cappers still have their place for small batches and they cost a fraction.

For wine, the corkers are a different tool. The Ferrari hand corker in red and the heavy duty Italian two lever will do a case comfortably. A pedestal corker for standard 750ml bottles is the one to buy if you bottle every vintage, because it compresses the cork evenly and does not tire your hands out at bottle forty.

There is a Ferrari Lux bottle steriliser here as well, which saves a lot of time before a bottling run.
