The Marasca cherry is the origin of this essence, and from this, the name 'Maraschino' is derived. Maraschino is a sweet and colourless essence full of cherry flavour.
Dissolve the essence with some alcohol, like vodka. Dissolve the recommended amount of sugar in the recommended amount of boiling water. Let the mix cool, then stir it all together and filter.
