Use dextrose as an alternative to white sugar in either your fermentation or priming your beer when bottling. Dextrose dissolves faster than white sugar and is completely fermentable. Dextrose brewing sugar, also referred to as corn sugar, is a naturally occurring form of glucose. Choose dextrose instead of sugar the next time you are brewing. Fructose can give your beer an off-cidery, ‘homebrew’ flavour but dextrose is one half of the sugar molecule without the Fructose. So the next time you brew, use dextrose in place of white sugar to get a cleaner, crisper flavour.
